75 PROJECTS OF BORDER ROADS
ORGANISATION DEDICATED TO THE NATION

border areas. Continuing with this spirit, Defence
Minister Rajnath Singh recently dedicated 75
Border Roads Organisation (BRO) infrastructure
projects spread across six states and two union
territories to the nation at a function organised
during his visit to Ladakh. These include 45
bridges, 27 roads, two helipads, and one carbon-
neutral habitat. Of these, 20 projects are in Oldie (DSDBO) road. The bridge is of strategic
Jammu and Kashmir division, 18 each in Ladakh importance as it will facilitate military operations
and Arunachal Pradesh, five in Uttarakhand, for the armed forces. Defence Minister Rajnath
and 14 in other border states of Sikkim, Singh also inaugurated the Carbon Neutral
Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Habitat built at an altitude of 19,000 feet. This

he Central Government is constructing 75 ponds in all the districts of the country under the
TAmrit Sarovar Yojana so that there is no shortage of drinking water for many generations
to come. Under this campaign, achieving great success in the direction of water conservation,
within six months of the year 2022, more than 25 thousand ponds have been constructed.
For the purpose of water conservation and to remove the water crisis in the rural areas of
the country, on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 75th year of independence,
during the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, with the resolution to make 75 Amrit Sarovar
in every district of the country mission Amrit Sarovar was started on 24 April 2022.
Under this initiative, a target has been set to make 50,000 Amrit Sarovar by August 15,
2023. About 90,531 sites have been identified for the construction of Amrit Sarovar by
November 17, 2022, out of which work has been started at 52,245 sites. This number
reflects the collective commitment towards rainwater conservation in the form of Amrit
Sarovar. An Amrit Sarovar portal has also been created for all the activities taking place
in Mission Amrit Sarovar. Longevity and shade trees like Neem, Peepal, and Banyan are
also being planted near Amrit Sarovar.
