Aizawl on railway map for First Time

The month of September was a historic day for the people of
Mizoram. After a long wait, Aizawl emerged on the railway map of
India. Also, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of
development projects worth more than Rs 9,000 crore for the state.
n Inauguration of Bairabi-Sairang new railway line
costing more than Rs 8,070 crore.
n Due to complex geographical conditions, 45 tunnels
and 55 big and 88 small bridges have been built.
n Three new express trains: Sairang (Aizawl)-Delhi (Anand
Vihar Terminal) Rajdhani Express, Sairang-Guwahati
Express and Sairang-Kolkata Express were flagged off.
n Inauguration of Eklavya Adarsh Residential School
in Tlangnuam.
n Foundation stone was laid for Aizawl Bypass Road,
Thenzawl-Sialsuk Road and Khankaun-Rongura Road
project to be constructed at a cost of Rs 500 crore.

n Foundation stone was laid for Chhimtuipui River
Bridge on Lawngtlai-Siyaha Road.

n Foundation stone was laid for Khelo India
Multipurpose Indoor Hall.

n Foundation stone was laid for LPG bottling plant
with 30 TMTPA capacity at Mualakhang in Aizawl.
