Scaled Mt Everest twice in five days
It is the dream of every mountaineer to scale
the highest mountain in the world– Mount
Everest. The 41-year-old, mother of two, Anshu
Jamsenpa is the only woman who scaled
Mount Everest twice in five days — first on
May 16, and then again on May 21, 2017. So
far, she has scaled Everest for a total of five
times.

Imparting free Sanskrit education at 89
India is one of the oldest civilisations in the
world where Sanskrit is considered as the
language coming through revelations. The
89-year-old Acharya Ram Yatna Shukla of
Varanasi is trying to bring this language
closer to the new generation by imparting
them free education in Sanskrit and Vedic
Science. He is the president of Kashi Vidvat
Parishad.

The lone Sindhi Sarangi player
Lakha Khan is the lone maestro of Sindhi
Sarangi in the country. Hailing from Jodhpur
district of Rajasthan, Khan belongs to Manganiar
community. He is a trained singer and can
sing in various languages like Hindi, Marwadi,
Sindhi, Punjabi and Multani. He was awarded
the Sahitya Academy Award and various other
international awards. Lakha has enthralled
people with his performance across the globe.

Her paintings brings her global recognition
Bhuri Bai is the first tribal woman artist who
took Pithora Painting beyond the boundaries
of her village. Her canvas changed from
walls of the huts to paper, bringing her
laurels and recognition. Her works have
been displayed in galleries and museums
of Europe, Australia and the US. One of her
painting has also sold at the
Sotheby’s auction.

several names that were unknown. But they got
recognition because of their exemplary work
