RAMPING UP THE FACILITIES FOR AUGMENTING

OXYGEN PRODUCTION

In view of the increasing demand for oxygen in the country, instructions were issued to increase
production. To ensure timely delivery of oxygen, tanker drivers were asked to work in shifts so
that the supply continued unhindered round the clock. Increasing the oxygen quota of states,
instructions were issued for supply of liquid medical oxygen. Government even imported
oxygen from other countries to meet the requirement. Steel companies were asked to convert
nitrogen tankers into oxygen tankers.
