Sadar Namaskar
India is a land of diversity which is also its distinctive strength. It is the melting point of
many customs, traditions, and languages but despite the diversity, India is closely knit in
one fabric. Festivals hold special significance in our diverse culture. The festival season
brings with it the euphoria and joy of celebrating the festivals in unison overcoming the
barriers of creed and religion. The joy increases manifold when we adopt swadeshi and
become 'Vocal for Local' while buying goods this festive season.
The Covid pandemic brought with it many challenges but the country coped with the
crisis by becoming self-reliant and reposing faith in local products. Today people are
feeling proud by adopting 'Made in India' products. It has become a habit to encourage
local entrepreneurs, artisans, craftsmen, and weavers by giving precedence to the local
products. This campaign of Indian products going from local to global has not only enabled
the country to carve out a niche market but also created many employment opportunities.
Besides, Vocal for local has become a mass movement today. The growing enthusiasm
for local products during the festival season gives a boost to the economy.
India has stepped up its efforts to combat the Covid pandemic. It created a record
by administering over 100 crore doses of vaccine. The role of sanitation in improving
health infrastructure, all-around development in villages and cities, expanding the reach of
drinking water facilities, and Amrit Mahotsav year celebrations are highlights of this edition.
The inherent self-confidence stems from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'service
and dedication' since the time he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Other major attractions
of this edition are a special feature on Prime Minister Modi's Diwali celebrations with the
soldiers every year and his effort to give momentum to the Namami Gange campaign by
donating proceeds received from the auctioning of the gifts received by him. The story
on Acharya J.B. Kripalani in the personality section and biographies of some of the most
respected freedom fighters in the Amrit Mahotsav series will inspire the readers.
Share happiness in this festive season by following the covid protocol. Wishing you all
a very Happy Festive Season.
