L.I.F.E. Environmental protection:
style for
environment India leads by example
In the last few years, the world
has witnessed India's commitment
to environmental protection. The
meeting of COP 26 in Glasgow last
year highlighted India's efforts where
the world community praised the
L.I.F.E (Lifestyle for Environment)
mantra given by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi. The mantra of L.I.F.E
is now becoming a global movement.
On June 5, Prime Minister Narendra
Modi launched the global initiative-
"L.I.F.E MOVEMENT" and at the
same time highlighted the important
contribution of India towards
environmental protection at the 'Mitti
Bachao' program organized by the

ature, soil, and environment are not just words for India
but are similar to the divinity element associated with
Nculture and religion, which has been associated with
our deities and our ancestors since time immemorial. In the
Indian context, the meeting between Yudhisthira and
Duryodhana is a point in a case. It is said about Duryodhana

that ''ज्न्र धरमं न च रें प्रिवति।।''
It means- I know Dharma, but I do not have the inclination
for it, I cannot, I know what the truth is, but I can not walk
that path. When such a tendency takes over the society then
through collective campaigns solutions have to be found.
Today the world is facing a serious threat of environmental
imbalance and by adopting an 'environmentally friendly
lifestyle' we can all play an important role in staving off this
crisis, so this mantra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has
shown the world a new path. India has taken important global
initiatives in this direction, launching a movement called
L.I.F.E in partnership with a number of UN agencies.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Environmental-
Proper Lifestyle Movement' i.e. L.I.F.E through video
conferencing on the occasion of World Environment Day on
