'AGNIPATH' OPENS NEW JOB AVENUES IN DEFENSE SECTOR

YOUTH WILL BE READY
Youth is the backbone of any nation. A young mind is full of bohemian ideas and creativity.
No nation in the world can be strong without utilizing the capabilities of its youth power. In
this regard, India has a demographic dividend which is considered the youngest nation in the
world. With an aim to empower the youth the Central Government has taken two key decisions
to empower them. First- is the 'Agnipath' scheme which provides the opportunity for 4 years of
service in the Armed Forces for youth and second...10 lakh new jobs in mission mode under the
Central Government and its departments in the next year and a half.
he Central Government has regularly taken several steps to
make India's youth power disciplined, skilled, and financially
Tempowered. Now with an aim to give a new direction to
help youth achieve their dreams, the 'Agnipath' scheme has been
launched. On June 14, the Cabinet Committee on Defense Affairs
approved the plan. Under this scheme, youth between the ages of
17.5 years and 21 years will be given a chance to join the Armed
Forces for 4 years. In the first year in the recruitment process an
age relaxation of two years will be given...
THESE SOLDIERS WILL BE CALLED AGNIVEERS
New recruitments for the post of sepoy will now be carried
under the Agnipath scheme and the soldiers recruited under it
will be called Agniveer.
They will get a chance to work in the army for 4 years, but
25 percent of them will get a chance to work in the army for
a longer period. That is, after 4 years, 25 percent of these
soldiers will be eligible for 15 years of permanent commission
in the Armed Forces.
After four years of service, they will get a lump sum and a
certificate of technical competence which will help them in
finding a new job in the corporate world. The first recruitment
under this scheme will be announced within 90 days. The
retired Agniveers will be given reservation of 10% in CAPFs
and Assam Rifles.
RECRUITMENT ON THE BASIS OF MERIT
To become an Agniveer, any 10th and 12th pass youth of the
country whose age is between 17.5 to 21 years, can apply.
Under the Agnipath scheme, an all-India merit-based
recruitment scheme will be introduced for recruitment in the
