PM SVANidhi Yojana
Boosts respect of street vendors
38.53 lakh beneficiaries under PM SVANidhi
given 50.63 lakh loans amounting to
Rs 6492 crore till July 20, 2023
Shiv Kumar says that for the second time I have received a
loan of 20 thousand rupees from PM SVANidhi. With this I am
able to expand my work. Our work has increased by making
digital payments. Now it seems that if you stop taking
money online then the work will reduce to half.
n In the PM SVANidhi Yojana, street vendors are given a
guarantee-free first loan of Rs 10,000, the second loan of
Rs 20,000 and the third loan of Rs 50,000.
n A mobile app has also been launched for street vendors
to check application, application status, cashback
details.
n The target set under PM SVANidhi Scheme for the 1st, 2nd
and 3rd loans is 42 Lakh, 12 Lakh and 3 Lakh respectively
by December, 2024
n Due to the promotion of digital transactions, they have
done about 38 crore digital transactions.
n Loan beneficiaries in PM SVANidhi include 15.79 lakh
women and 230 transgenders.
n SVANidhi Se Samriddhi has been added to it, due to
which their life is becoming easier by adding 8 welfare
schemes.
Three-tier security of life: 55 crores got security cover
n 34.18 crore people got insurance under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha
Yojana, 49% women.
n 16.19 crore people got insurance under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti
Bima Yojana, 52% women.
n Atal Pension Yojana covered 5.13 crore people.
Constitutional status to National Backward Commission: Now
grievance redressal too
On August 14, 2018 the present National Commission for Backward Classes
was given constitutional status which has been constituted on August 11,
2018 under the Constitution (102nd Amendment) Act, 2018.
n The new Act has recognized that the backward classes need
development apart from reservation.
n The present commission has been entrusted with the additional task of
redressing the grievances of the backward classes.
