Mann Ki Baat 2.0 (103rd episode, July 30, 2023)
“The spirit of universal welfare is
the identity and strength of India”
Our strength and resources play a big role in dealing with any disaster - but at the same time,
our sensitivity and the spirit of holding each other's hands are equally important. This spirit of
universal welfare is the identity and strength of India. In the monthly program 'Mann Ki Baat' aired
on July 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with appreciating the collective efforts of the
countrymen in the natural calamities of the past, also spoke on many other topics including water
conservation. Here are the highlights of the 103rd episode of Mann Ki Baat...
n WATER CONSERVATION EFFORTS: Our countrymen are making new efforts for 'water conservation' with
full awareness and responsibility. Some time ago, I had gone to Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh. There I met
tribal brothers and sisters of Pakaria village. I also had a discussion with them to save nature and water. Now
I have come to know that they have also started working on it.
n PILGRIMS FROM AROUND THE WORLD VISIT INDIA: Now people from all over the world are coming to our
pilgrimages. I have come to know about two such American friends who had come here from California for
the Amarnath Yatra. These foreign guests had heard about Swami Vivekananda's experiences related to the
Amarnath Yatra. This inspired them and they came for Amarnath Yatra.
n PRACTICING YOGA: Charlotte Chopin, a woman of French origin, is a yoga teacher and she is more than 100
years old. She has been practicing yoga for the last 40 years. She gives the credit of her health and age of 100
years to yoga only. She has become a prominent face of India's science of yoga and its strength in the world.
n PROUD OF HERITAGE: A few days ago a wonderful enthusiasm was seen on social media. America has
returned to us more than a hundred rare and ancient artifacts. After this news came to the fore, there was a
lot of discussion on social media about these artifacts. The youth showed a sense of pride in their heritage.
n EMOTIONAL LETTER: The letters written to me by some mothers and sisters of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand are
very emotional. They have given lot of blessings to their son and brother. They have written that they have
never imagined that 'Bhojpatra', our cultural heritage, could become a means of their livelihood.
n HAJ PILGRIMAGE WITHOUT MEHRAM: I have also received many such letters this time, which gives
great satisfaction to the mind. These letters have been written by those Muslim women who have recently
performed Hajj. These are the women who have performed Hajj without any male companion i.e. Mehram.
n CAMPAIGN AGAINST DRUGS: Efforts to increase youth participation in the campaign against drugs give
a lot of strength to the campaign against drugs in India. If we have to save the future generations of the
country, then we have to keep them away from drugs.
n MINI BRAZIL: Bicharpur is a village in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. Bicharpur is called Mini Brazil because this
village has become a stronghold of the rising stars of football today.
