                                                                    SIGNIFICANCE OF THE 'KNOW
                                                                    YOUR LEADERS' PROGRAMME


                                                                      You  must  have  seen  and  heard  the  Prime
                                                                    n
                                                                      Minister,  Lok  Sabha  Speaker,  Rajya  Sabha
                                                                      Chairman, and other dignitaries pay their
                                                                      respects  to  the  portraits  of  great  men  in
                                                                      Parliament  House's  central  hall.  However,
                                                                      a  new  era  has  begun  in  the  golden  age  of
                                                                      independence.  Now,  the  country's  youth
                                                                      are drawing inspiration from the lives of the
                                                                      nation's  exemplary  men  by  participating  in
                                                                      these tribute programmes at Parliament
                                                                      House.  The  government  or  Parliament  have
                                                                      added  a  new  dimension  to  the  ongoing
                                                                      initiative to connect citizens with government
                                                                      with this programme.

                                                                    n   Under the new concept of youth participation
                                                                      in paying tribute to national leaders on their
                                                                      birth  anniversaries,  eleven  birth  anniversary
                                                                      programmes  for  national  leaders  have  been
                                                                      organised  in  the  Central  Hall  of  Parliament.
                                                                      The first event occurred on October 2, 2022, on
                                                                      the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation
                                                                      Mahatma  Gandhi  and  Lal  Bahadur  Shastri;
                                                                      nine other events have since taken place.

                                                                      Parliament  House,  Kartavya  Path,  the  War
                                                                      Memorial,  Rajghat,  the  National  Cleanliness
                                                                      Center, and the Prime Minister's Museum.
