FREEDOM FIGHTERS CONSIDERED
THE NATIONAL INTEREST
PARAMOUNT; LED WITH PENANCE
AND SACRIFICE
The first freedom struggle commenced in 1857 and the struggle to get independence
continued every moment till 1947 in some or other corner of the country. This long period
ignited the desire for freedom in the countrymen's hearts. Generations changed but the
resolve to get freedom became stronger. The countrymen kept trying unitedly, fighting to
overthrow British rule. The names of Mangal Pandey, Dr. Khubchand Baghel, Aruna Asaf
Ali, and Abdul Hamid Kaiser are written in golden letters who always considered national
interest paramount and kept fighting for freedom. These freedom fighters not only worked
tirelessly in the freedom movement of India but also led with penance and sacrifice in the
interest of the nation when needed.
