AERO INDIA EVENT
SYMBOL OF INDIA'S GROWING POWER
On February 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the
14th edition of Asia's largest aero show, Aero India 2023, at the
Air Force Station in Bengaluru. The five-day event's theme was
"Runway to a Billion Opportunities." It drew over 800 defence
companies from more than 80 countries, including 700 from
India. In the last five years, India's defence exports have
increased sixfold, and they are expected to increase from 1.5
billion to 5 billion dollars by 2024-25. In keeping with the Prime
Minister's concept of "Make in India, Make for the World," this
programme emphasised indigenous equipment.
