          context.

          and international groups, it was a non-permanent
          member of the United Nations Security Council,
          chaired the Executive Board of the World Health
          Organisation (WHO), chaired the SCO (Shanghai
          Cooperation Organisation) and the BRICS (Brazil,
          Russia, India, China, and South Africa), and is an
          important member of the recently formed Quad.
        n   In recent years, India's relations with countries such
          as Japan, Australia, Vietnam, and the Philippines have
          grown stronger. India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy
          has given new impetus to relations with Afghanistan,
          Bangladesh, Bhutan, and the Maldives, while relations
          with Sri Lanka and Nepal have expanded.
