CHANDRAYAAN-3
n The spacecraft was successfully launched by the
LVM-3 rocket on July 14, 2023 at 2:35 pm from the
Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
n After a long journey of 40 days, Vikram Lander
along with Pragyan Rover made a soft landing
on the south pole of the Moon at 6.04 pm on the
evening of 23 August.
n The mission life of the lander and rover is
approximately one lunar day which is equivalent to
14 Earth days.
Till June 2023, Rs 601.34 crore
was spent on Chandrayaan-3
including the launch rocket, the
entire budget of the mission
was Rs 615 crore.
CHANDRAYAAN-3 JOURNEY
n July 14, 2023: Chandrayaan 3 successfully
separated from the LVM3-M4 rocket
n August 1, 2023: The spacecraft reached translunar
orbit.
n August 5, 2023: The spacecraft reached lunar orbit.
n August 17, 2023: The propulsion module attached to
the lander separated, the lander moved further into
orbit.
n August 23, 2023: Chandrayaan-3 successfully
landed on the Moon's surface at 6:04 pm.
