Hosting a dinner
Banquets have an important place in
Indian culture. This is why, during the G-20
conference, the President of India, Droupadi
Murmu, hosted a dinner for the foreign guests.
The foreign guests were served dishes from
every region of India at this banquet. The
President and Prime Minister greeted every
foreign visitor warmly.
World draped in Indian attire
If NRIs are seen wearing Indian clothing,
it should not come as a surprise, but if
westerners—their heads of state or their
spouses—do the same, why should not India
be proud of its history and culture. Some
foreign guests wore sarees while others wore
salwar suits to the dinner. Yuke, the wife of
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and
Iriana, the wife of Indonesian President Joko
Widodo, both wore sarees to the dinner at
Bharat Mandapam. Ritu Banga, the wife of
World Bank President Ajay Banga, was seen

Crafts and handicrafts made headlines
across the world
At the G-20 Summit held at Pragati Maidan in
Delhi, the exhibition of crafts and handicrafts
along with the Bharat Mandapam attracted
world delegates. Women's representatives
described the craftsmanship as amazing.
WHO representative Nicole Mains said that the
culture here is reflected in the Indian artefacts.
UK representative Freddy said that the
handicraft products and historical objects here
are not only good to look at but also provide a
sense of relaxation. Jodwa Lali, who was part
of the South African delegation, said that the
craftsmanship and beauty of handmade items
from India are a perfect showcase.
