Special on Hindi Diwas (14 September)
Hindi unites the diversity
of languages in India
India is a country of diverse languages. In the world's
largest democracy, Hindi unites the diversity of languages in
India. Hindi is a democratic language. Hindi has respected
and incorporated various Indian and global languages
and dialects. It has adopted their vocabulary, words, and
grammar rules. Hindi language has played an unprecedented
role in uniting the country during the difficult days of freedom
struggle and instilled a feeling of unity in a country with
several languages and dialects.
n Considering the important role of Hindi in the freedom
movement and after independence, the architects of
the Constitution accepted it as the official language on
September 14, 1949
n Central Hindi Committee, Parliamentary Official
Language Committee, Hindi Advisory Committees, and
City Official Language Implementation Committees
have been formed to promote and monitor the official
language Hindi.
n The Official Language Department monitors the use of
Hindi through 8 regional implementation offices. Along
with this, other incentives like Rajbhasha Kirti, Rajbhasha
Gaurav and Regional Official Language Awards are
provided to speed up the implementation of official
language Hindi.
n Hindi has given India special respect all over the world.
Its simplicity, spontaneity, and sensitivity always attract.
Best wishes to all my family members on the Hindi
Diwas. I wish the Hindi language will continue to
strengthen the thread of national unity and harmony.
- Narendra Modi, Prime Minister
