11th International Day of Yoga | NATION
s a symbol of India’s soft power, yoga is promoting
peace, well-being, and unity by reaching offshore. With
this eternal gift of India for global harmony, this time
AYoga Day was celebrated on the theme ‘Yoga for one
earth, one health’ with more than 2,000 programs in about 1,300
places in 191 countries across the world. Referring to this spirit
of unity through Yoga in the main program organized on the
beach in Visakhapatnam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said
that the day when India proposed in the United Nations that 21
June should be recognized as International Day of Yoga, then
in the shortest time 177 countries of the world stood with this
proposal. In today’s world, such unity, such support, is not an
ordinary feat. This was not just the support of a proposal; it was a
collective effort of the world for the welfare of humanity. Today,
after 11 years, yoga has become a part of the lifestyle of crores
of people around the world. It is a matter of pride when Divyang
friends read yoga scriptures in Braille, scientists do yoga in space,
and young friends participate in the Yoga Olympiad in every

From Ladakh to Kerala and Arunachal to Gujarat, events were
organized across the country for the 11th International Day of Yoga.
n The Ministry of Tourism organized mass yoga programs
at 40 tourist places with beautiful monuments and serene
natural landscapes, while the Archaeological Survey of India
organized mass yoga programs at 81 heritage sites, including
Gujarat’s Adalaj stepwell and Konark Sun Temple. Indian
Army soldiers practiced yoga at the world’s highest battlefield,
