A Grateful Nation Salutes A Great Leader

Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s principles and ideals will give strength to the creation of an
Aatmnirbhar and Viksit Bharat... In the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a grateful nation
salutes Baba Saheb on his 136th birth anniversary on April 14th …
“Baba Saheb was a strong advocate of humanity. He rejected every form of inhumanity, tried to reform it, and
always worked through constitutional methods. What message did Baba Saheb give us? He told society only one
thing: ‘Brothers, become educated…’ Once you are educated, you will be able to look the world in the eye and
speak with confidence. The second mantra he gave was to become organised… The third was to struggle in
support of humanity and raise your voice against inhuman practices. These three mantras continue to inspire us
even today and will keep giving us strength. The spirit with which Baba Saheb Ambedkar carried out his work
was completely pure. It was filled with dedication to the nation and commitment to society. Therefore, this is our
resolve: whether it is the Dalits, the oppressed, the exploited, the deprived, the poor, the tribals, those living in
villages, those living in slums, or those suffering due to lack of education, if we wish to work for all of them, then
Baba Saheb Ambedkar will always remain our inspiration.
The government has prominently presented Baba Saheb’s contributions before the country and the world.
Wherever Baba Saheb lived in India and abroad, those places have been developed as the ‘Panchteerth’. His
birthplace in Mhow, Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur, Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai, the place in Delhi where he spent
his final days, and the Ambedkar Memorial Home in London – these Panchteerth will continue to inspire future
generations. On behalf of all the citizens of the country, I pay my heartfelt tributes to Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb
on his birth anniversary. It is his inspiration that keeps the nation dedicated to realising the dream of social justice
today. His principles and ideals strengthen and accelerate the building of a Aatmnirbhar and Viksit Bharat.”
