whisper of a temple wall, every carving on ancient forts, and every folk
song passed down through generations. Celebrated annually on April 18,
World Heritage Day reminds us that these timeless treasures must not
only be admired but also preserved...

World Heritage Day is Celebrated on April 18
World Heritage Day is celebrated every year on April 18. It is also
known as the International Day for Monuments and Sites. This day
is dedicated to honoring and protecting human heritage. The
observance of this day was initiated in 1982 by ICOMOS
(International Council on Monuments and Sites).
Subsequently, in 1983, UNESCO officially
44 World Heritage adopted it.
