FROM EDITOR'S DESK
Sadar Namaskar,
India is on the verge of winning a decisive battle against COVID-19.
January 2021 would be etched in the annals of history as a golden moment
of turning a crisis into an opportunity. This is an unprecedented situation as
vaccination on such a large scale has never been initiated by any government
in the world. In the first phase, about three crore people, mostly frontline
workers and those prone to infection are being vaccinated free of cost.
Everyone, from scientists to doctors and frontline healthcare providers,
who were associated with the development and distribution of the vaccines,
needs a huge applause for making this dream a reality in such a short span
of time. Indian scientists have completed the development of indigenous
vaccines in just 10 months. This proves India’s commitment towards self-
reliance and also takes it to newer heights amongst the comity of nations.
Two indigenous vaccines are the success story of Team India. Their
development and future plans have made to the cover story of New India
Samachar for this issue.
India’s message to the world is loud and clear that it is unstoppable.
This issue remembers Swami Vivekananda as the country celebrated the
National Youth Day, and Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan on his birth anniversary.
Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and Light House Projects are also covered in this
issue along with other regular features.
