SOLUTION TO ‘TRADITIONAL PROBLEMS’
THROUGH ‘DEVELOPMENT’
oon after assuming office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi

(Development) forum. It is a multi-model platform based
on information, communication and technology for active
governance and time-bound implementation of projects by

review projects and remove bottlenecks. The Prime Minister
has chaired 32 meetings of PRAGATI since 2014. Besides
reviewing 47 government programmes and schemes, he
reviewed and initiated solution to 280 projects worth Rs
12.54 lakh crore. At the 32nd meeting held in January, he
reviewed 9 projects worth Rs 24,000 crore which were
running behind schedule. These projects are spread in nine
states – Odisha, Telangana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Bihar,
Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh; and
three other Union Territories. n
