separated from loved ones. When the

lakhs of lives were lost in the violence
that erupted on both sides of India and
14 August Pakistan, and lakhs of people had lost their
homes. In their honour, Prime Minister
Narendra Modi has declared August 14th as
Partition Vibhishika Memorial Day, so that
our future generations can commemorate
this day in order to eliminate the poison of
discrimination, animosity, and ill-will.

'Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Divas' will continue to remind us
of the importance of eradicating social discrimination and

disharmony, as well as strengthening unity, social harmony,
and human sensibilities.
