Today, tourism is a very fast-growing business sector in the world, and India is
making spectacular progress with its stunning cultural and heritage sites. A vast
network of modern infrastructure; whether it is rail, road, airways, waterways,
alongside other amenities such as hotels and hospitals and robust Internet-mobile
connectivity are giving impetus to it. In addition, Government's cleanliness drive
has a positive impact on tourism. These aspects are interconnected which not
only boost tourism but also provides new employment opportunities. On National
Tourism Day which is celebrated on 25 January India seeks to metamorphosise
this sector with several innovative initiatives.
