• Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the
third meeting of the National Committee on
'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'.
In his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi
said that the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is
creating an atmosphere of patriotic zeal in
the country and it is a golden opportunity to
establish the emotional connect of our youth
with the nation building.
It is a "Sanskar Utsav" (festival of values)
for the youth which will fill them with the
undying passion to contribute for the country.
The current generation will be the leaders of
tomorrow.
The first meeting of the National Committee
was held on 8 March 2021 before the launch
of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by the Prime
Minister on 12 March 2021.
Various members of the National Committee
attended the meeting including Lok Sabha
Speaker, Governors, Union Ministers, Chief
Ministers, political leaders, officials, media
personalities, Spiritual Leaders, artists and
film personalities, and eminent persons from
other walks of life.
More than 60 thousand programmes have
been organized successfully in the country
till date and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav has
percolated down from the national to the
state, district, and grassroot levels.
The Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi will continue till
August 15, 2023

Sethi, the revolutionary from
Rajasthan, sacrificed his life.
He not only filled the hearts
of people with new energy
but also motivated them for
revolution. Arjun Lal Sethi Born: 9 September
was a revolutionary figure 1880, Death: 23
and teacher who is known December 1941
as the 'Father of Freedom'
movement in Rajasthan. He was born on 9
September 1880 in the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Arjun made a plan to plan to throw a bomb on the
procession of Governor General Lord Hardinge
in Chandni Chowk, Delhi in 1912. He came in
contact with revolutionaries like Rash Behari
Bose, Sachindra Nath Sanyal, and Amir Chand
who wanted to free the country through the path
of revolution.
He was given the responsibility of executing
an armed revolution in Rajasthan by Rash Behari
Bose. Arjun Lal Sethi's speeches were very fiery
and passionate. He was a firebrand revolutionary
who infused a sense of zeal and patriotism
among the revolutionaries and was extremely
popular among the youth. While working as the
headmaster of Kalyanmal Mahavidyalaya in
Indore, Sethi was arrested by the British and kept
in custody for 6 years till 1922. After his release
from prison, Arjun Lal Sethi shifted to Ajmer.
Famous revolutionaries such as Chandrashekhar
Azad and his associates visited him to seek
guidance. He had given shelter to Meerut
conspiracy case accused Shaukat Usmani and
Kakori case absconding accused Ashfaq Ullah
Khan in his house. It is said about Sethi that he
had even refused the post of Collector.
