Nataraj, Abhinav Shaw, Philip Maheswaran Tabitha,
Swadesh Mandal, and many other sportspersons
raised the stature of the Tricolour at the
international level.
Sports, in a real sense, is the genuine
support system of life. The strength, and
the learning that takes you forward in
sports, also take you forward in life. There
is the importance of passion, enthusiasm,
in both sports and life. The one who
embraces the challenges in both sports
and life is the winner.

Indigenous sports like Mallakhamb, Gatka,
Kalaripayattu, Thang-Ta, Yogasana, and
Silambam are being supported under the
'Promotion of Rural and Indigenous/Tribal Sports'
of the Khelo India scheme.

Khelo India was initially a nationwide campaign for
school children, which has been extended to the
university level.
