TRIBAL COMMUNITY'S BUDGET HAS
INCREASED BY 4 TIMES
The budget for the tribal community which was Rs 21 thousand crore,
is now Rs 88 thousand crore.
Before the year 2014, there were less than 100 Eklavya schools in
tribal areas, now the number is reaching 500. Scholarships for tribal
students have been doubled.
Earlier governments used to give MSP only on 9-10 forest produce,
now MSP is being given on 90 forest produce.
There are more than 50,000 Van Dhan Kendras in tribal areas across
the country, through which about 9 lakh tribals are getting employment.
The present central government started celebrating Tribal Pride Day
on 15 November, the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. 10 Tribal
Freedom Fighter Museums are being set up across the country.

THE NORTHEAST
Work is going on fast to connect all the capitals of the Northeast
including Shillong by rail.
The country's first sports university is in the northeast. Now
multipurpose hall, football ground, athletics track, work on 90 such
projects is going on in the North-East.
Before 2014, only 900 flights were possible every week in the Northeast,
now it has increased to 1900. During this period, the coverage of optical
fiber in the Northeast has increased almost 4 times. To increase the
connectivity of mobile, 6 thousand mobile towers have been installed.
Rope-way network under Parvatmala scheme will increase convenience
in famous tourist places of North East. A budget of Rs 6 thousand
crore has been fixed for the coming 3-4 years under PM-DevINE.
850 Van Dhan Kendras have been set up in the North-East and many
self-help groups are attached to them. There has been a 50 per cent
increase in the length of National Highways in the Northeast since
2014. More than 200 Khelo India centers have been approved in 8
states of the North Eastern region and many athletes from the region
are getting benefits under TOPS scheme.
