INDIA'S
'AMRIT GENERATION'
GETTING EMPOWERED
India is the youngest country in the world with an average age of 29 years. About 65 percent of the
population is below 35 years of age, while 50 percent of the population is below 25 years of age. In
this backdrop, a nation with unlimited powers owing to its demography and democracy is giving
new flight to young dreams. Several steps are being taken to empower youth including the new
National Education Policy unveiled three years ago, on July 29 to create a global hub of knowledge or
equipping the youth with skills on a mission mode, making the unicorn initiative a culture from startup
or connecting youth with technology-digital. Providing youth opportunities in army or changing the
social thinking by linking sports with career, moving towards Amrit Kaal through the National Youth
Policy or embodying the revolutionary initiative to link employment-self-employment have been the
key efforts of the government. The youth power referred to as the Amrit Generation has become the
driving force of India's development journey which will take the country to a new height in the coming
25 years and make India a self-reliant and developed nation....
