Three-fold increase in budget for sports

In the last nine years, the budget for sports has increased from Rs 864 crore to about Rs 2700 crore. This
is a threefold increase. More than 15,000 players have participated in Khelo India, the Youth Games, the
University Games, and the Winter Games. This year, 25 new national records have been set in the Khelo
India Games, out of which 21 have been set by the daughters of India.
