Cleanliness is no longer just a word but has become a lifestyle. These words reminds
of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resolve to make India clean in his address from the
ramparts of the Red Fort. At that time no one had even imagined that a Prime Minister
would even use the word sanitation-toilet from such a platform. But this was the beginning
of a new public resolution in the country, which has progressed in the form of a mass
movement. In 2019, on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the dream of
Swachh Bharat was fulfilled. But this journey did not stop here, rather it catapulted into a
new journey with innovative approach. New initiatives like power generation from waste
management, water management and startups are writing a new story of self-reliance in
cleanliness, while Swachh Bharat Mission, which has become a symbol of dignified life for
the poor, has become the harbinger of building a new India, which has also solved many
