The midnight of 25 June and the morning of 26 June in 1975 when an emergency
was imposed in the country is a phase in our history that teaches us to strengthen
our dedication and resolve towards democracy so that the Indian culture and heritage
remains alive forever. About 50 years ago an emergency was imposed that made us
realize the true importance of democracy. The remembrance of this day is not aimed
at calling names but it inspires us to dedicate ourselves to the strengthening of
democracy with even more steadfast resolve. The Central Government has decided
to celebrate 25 June every year as 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas', so that there can never
be a 'lockdown of democracy' in the future...
