        Lakhpati Didi is turning around

the fortune of the whole family

The central government is fully committed to empowering women of the country and
making their lives easier. With this commitment, the government is steadfastly working
for the progress of women and has set a target of making three crore women Lakhpati
Didis. So far one crore women have been made Lakhpati Didis under the Lakhpati
Didi scheme. This scheme is becoming a big medium to empower women across the
country. On August 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Lakhpati Didi
Sammelan in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, and interacted with them…...

he Lakhpati Didi scheme is not just a
campaign to increase the income of sisters
Tand daughters but its key aim is to empower
the entire family, the coming generations. This
campaign is changing the entire economy of the
village. Every sister and daughter knows very well
that when she starts earning, how her rights are
secured. Her respect is enhanced in the family.
When a sister's income increases, the family also
has more money to spend. In the program, Prime
Minister Narendra Modi said that I was listening
to the experiences of such sisters who had self-
confidence, and who had come from different
corners of the country. I used to call them Lakhpati
Didi, but among them, some earned two lakhs,
some three lakhs, and some eight lakhs. And they
have done this amazing feat in the last few months.
India's 'Matri Shakti' has always contributed a lot
to building the future of the society and the nation.
Today, when India is trying to become developed,
our Nari Shakti is once again coming forward. Prime
Minister Modi said that I took a pledge to reduce
the burden on women and took decisions in the
interest of women one after the other. Comparing
the 10 years of the current government and the
seven decades of the previous governments, Prime
Minister Modi said that the current government has
done more work in the interest of women than the
previous governments. At the event, PM Modi said
that today more than Rs 6000 crore was distributed
to lakhs of women self-help groups spread across
