White Revolution 2.0...

A New Chapter in India’s Rural Transformation
White Revolution 2.0 aims to expand the reach of dairy cooperatives to
farmers in areas of the country where these cooperatives have not yet reached.
By joining dairy cooperatives, farmers will have access to a better market for
their milk. White Revolution 2.0 aims to expand the reach of cooperatives,
increase milk procurement by 50%, create new employment opportunities in
rural areas, and empower women economically. Union Home and Cooperation
Minister Amit Shah has launched the SOP of White Revolution 2.0.

Initiative to transform the dairy
sector from Kachre Se Kanchan
A key objective of White Revolution 2.0 is to
develop a development model in the dairy sector
that ensures environmental protection, resource
reuse, and sustainable growth in farmers’ income.
Toward this end, the government has taken steps
to promote sustainability and circularity in the
dairy sector, adopting climate-smart practices
across the dairy value chain, promoting efficient
resource use, and building a low-emission
and income-generating ecosystem through
renewable resources. To this end, three multi-state
cooperative societies will be established:

n For livestock feed production, disease control, and
artificial insemination.

n For cow and buffalo dung management.
n For the management of dead cattle hides, bones, and
horns.
