UNION CABINET DECISIONS
Fertilizer Subsidy for Kharif Season 2026
Approval for Jaipur Metro Expansion
Keeping the interests of farmers in mind, the Union Cabinet has approved a proposal for
Nutrient-Based Subsidy (NBS) rates on Phosphatic and Potassic (P&K) fertilizers for the
Kharif season of 2026. This decision is significant in the direction of making fertilizers
available to farmers at affordable rates and empowering the agricultural sector.
Additionally, the second phase of the Metro project in Jaipur has also been approved. This
will provide fresh momentum to traffic management and tourism within the city, while
also boosting employment and trade opportunities. Furthermore, approval was granted
to several other significant proposals, including the extension of the Pradhan Mantri Gram
Sadak Yojana-III (PMGSY-III) until March 2028.
Even amidst global challenges, the welfare of our farmer brothers and sisters
has always remained a top priority for our government. In this direction,
an increase in nutrient-based subsidies has been approved for the Kharif
season of 2026. This will ensure that our food providers continue to receive
fertilizers at affordable rates as before.” Narendra Modi, Prime Minister
