            ELECTRONICS                                        In order to promote the electronics manufacturing
                                                               sector in the country and to make India a global
                                                               electronics manufacturing hub, the present
            MANUFACTURING,                                     government has taken strategic steps and taken
                                                               several initiatives. To make India a global hub for
                                                               electronic system design and manufacturing, the

                                                               Policy, in 2019 and set a production target of $400
                                                               billion in electronic manufacturing by 2025. Leading

            BHARAT                                             lighting. The electronic sector is being strengthened
                                                               as the base pillar of a new AatmaNirbhar Bharat by
                                                               connecting it with the vision of the development of the
                                                               country i.e. Digital India.

                                                                         Electronics  Manufacturing  Cluster  1.0
                                                                        followed  by  Electronics  Manufacturing
                                                                        Cluster  2.0  launched  in  which  applications
                                                                        can be made till March 2023.
                                                                         Incubation Centres are set up in collaboration
                                                                        with  State  Governments  to  promote
                                                                        Research  &  Development  in  innovation-
                                                                        driven  electronics  system  design  and
                                                                        manufacturing.
                                                                         Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Large
                                                                        Scale  Electronics  Manufacturing  to  provide
                                                                        4-6% incentive to phone manufacturing and
                                                                        assembling, marketing, and packaging.
                                                                         Financial  assistance  is  given  in  the  value
                                                                        chain  of  electronic  products  i.e.  electronic
                                                                        components, semiconductors, display fabric
                                                                        units, and specialized sub-assembling.
                                                                         IT  Hardware  includes  Laptops,  Tablets,  All
                                                                        in  One  PCs  and  Servers  under  Production
                                                                        Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI).
                                                                         National Centres of Excellence for different
                                                                        fields  have  been  set  up  at  IIT  Bombay,  IIT
                                                                        Madras, and IIT Kanpur.
                                                                     ACHIEVEMENTS
                                                                         India's   share   in   global   electronics
                                                                        manufacturing was 1.3% in 2012, which has
                                                                        increased to 8% in 2021-2022.
                PRODUCTION AND EXPORT OF ELECTRONIC                      Electronic  manufacturing  to  contribute
