AATMANIRBHAR Aatmanirbhar Bharat Road infrastructure

carbon dioxide emissions by 250 crore kg
every year.

of Environment and Forests has started
a project called 'Tree Bank' under which
trees will be planted along the highways.
The ministry has procured more than 80
lakh carbon dioxide absorbing trees.
The speed of construction of National
Highways has increased from 12 km per
day to 37 km. It is now targeted to take it
up to a record speed of 50 km per day.
