at the centre of New India
“Yatra Naryastu Pujyante Ramante Tatra Devata,
Yatraitaastu Na Pujyante Sarvaastatrafalaah Kriyaah”
It means where women are revered, divinity blossoms there; and where they are
dishonoured, all actions remain unfruitful. The importance laid upon respecting women,
in Indian culture, is clear from this Shloka itself. In such a scenario, the dream of
a ‘New India’ is incomplete without the empowerment of half of its population. The
aspiration to empower women is the driving force behind various schemes and ideas
propagated by the Government. And today women’s sphere of influence is increasing
across fields like education, science, politics, business, sports etc.
