MANGARH DHAM

A REFLECTION OF TENACITY, SACRIFICE,

AND PATRIOTISM OF TRIBAL HEROES

When voices were raised in India against foreign rule,
Govind Guru was awakening the spirit of education
among the Bhil tribals and filling them with the
energy of patriotism. Mangarh Dham is a symbol of
Govind Guru's sacrifice and the sacrifice of hundreds
of tribals who gave their lives for the motherland.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the public
programme "Maangarh Dham ki Gaurav Gatha" on
November 1, 2022, to pay tribute to the unsung tribal
heroes and martyrs of the freedom struggle.

ithout a tribal society, India's past, present, and
future would be incomplete. Every page of our
Wfreedom movement is replete with tribal valour.
The tribal society had sounded the bugle of the struggle
against the foreign rule even before the revolution of 1857.
In 1780, much before 1857, armed rebellion occurred in
Santhal under the leadership of Tilka Manjhi. From the
early centuries of slavery to the 20th century, there has
been no period when tribal society has not held the torch of
the freedom struggle.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a public
programme "Mangarh Dham Ki Gaurav Gatha" at Mangarh
Hill in Banswara, Rajasthan, and saluted the unsung tribal
heroes and martyrs of the freedom struggle for their
sacrifices.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "We are indebted to
the sacrifices of the tribal society. We are indebted to their
contributions. This society has preserved and cherished
nature, the environment, culture, traditions, and the
