of time. The historic budget that came after the
disaster period is emerging as a vision document to
strengthen the foundation of "New India" and make
India an economic superpower as a result of the
government's preparations.
In India, half the population is under the age
of 25. This is a country that is constantly growing
and full of youthful spirit and ideas. However, the
general budget, which is the only tool available to the
central government to propel the country's economy
forward, is limited to income-expenditure activity.
However, Prime Minister Modi has instilled new zeal
in this, ensuring that the youth participates.
To make the entire country a partner in
development, the government has given aspirational
names to 115 backward districts, stating that
it is not only about satisfying the economic
development needs of Delhi and Mumbai. Rather,
it is to make everyone a participant in the formal
economy by providing access to facilities to the
last person, because people of working age are
not voluntarily poor. They are poor because they
lack access to many facilities and opportunities.
Citizens residing anywhere in India, whether
men or women, should all have access to
basic individual and collective amenities. This
makes life easier. The government's work in this
direction, the general budget of the COVID period,
is based on the same long-term thinking.
Previously, the focus of taxpayers and industry
was solely on corporate tax, custom duty,
changes in tax structure, and so on. However, the
government's stance on this issue has shifted.
That is, if the industry works hard and tries to
dominate the global market with high-quality
products, the government will encourage it,
which is why the revolutionary PLI, or Production
Linked Incentive, initiative has been expanded.
The central government set aside Rs 1.97 lakh
crore for this purpose in 14 sectors, and 60 lakh
new jobs are expected to be created as a result.
PLI led to a paradigm shift in industry
thinking. Even during the Corona period, Indian
entrepreneurs -- particularly small and medium-
sized enterprises (MSMEs) -- recognized
the opportunity and were encouraged by the
government. The manufacturing sector was
in decline during the Corona period, and there
was a need for assistance, indicating a shift in
perspective. In the aftermath of the disaster,
government policies changed the picture.
The "Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan" and
"Vocal for Local" campaigns have changed the
way ordinary citizens think about life. Today,
the country looks forward to not only the local
products, but also to adopting them with trust.
The thinking of "Maximum Governance and
Minimum Government" is the reason for this
shift in the general public's attitude towards the
country.
Despite the challenges posed by COVID,
India is performing better than all world
agencies' estimates because the country's and
its top leadership has a far-sighted approach,
synchronizing life and the economy through a
vision. Looking forward to Amrit Kaal's journey
for the next 25 years with determination.
