the startups of tomorrow becoming the unicorns
of today. Their market value is in the millions
of rupees. These are the country's new types
of wealth generators. Because of their unique
idea, they are standing up and moving forward.
As a result of this, India has now become the
third country with the most unicorns, surpassing
Britain. Before 2014, most Indians were unfamiliar
with terms like "start-up," and terms like "unicorn"
were not even mentioned. Certainly, in this Amrit
Kaal of Independence (75 years of Independence),
India must be made self-sufficient, and then it
must be committed to making India the world's
best startup. Being the world's youngest country,
Indian youths have that grit and determination to
take it to greater heights.

ON THE OCCASION OF COMPLETION OF SIX
YEARS OF STARTUP
The year 2022 has brought with it even more
opportunities for India's startup ecosystem.
The 75th anniversary of India's independence
gives the "Start-up India Innovation Week" even
more significance. The importance of startups in
constructing a great India on the completion of 100
years of independence will be enormous.
42 unicorns emerged in our country last year alone.
These companies, worth thousands of crores
of rupees, are the hallmark of a self-reliant, self-
confident India. Today, India is rapidly moving
towards creating the century of the unicorn. And
I believe the golden age of India's start-ups is
starting now.
To ensure that this culture of start-ups reaches
all corners of the country, January 16 has been
declared as National Start-up Day. Startups should
contribute to the development of rural areas of the
country, which have enormous potential.
This decade is being called the "Techade of India".
There are three important aspects to the massive
changes that the government is making in this
decade to strengthen innovation, entrepreneurship,
and the start-up ecosystem.
First, to liberate entrepreneurship and innovation
from the web of government processes and
bureaucratic silos; second, to create an institutional
mechanism to promote innovation; and third, to
handhold young innovators and youth enterprises!
So, don't just keep your dreams local, make them
global. Remember this mantra: Let us innovate for
India, innovate from India!
