Nation Special Cleanliness Drive 2.0
FILES PILED UP IN GOVERNMENT OFFICES WEEDED OUT
MORE THAN 88 LAKH SQUARE
FEET OF SPACE FREED
Cases stalled for a long time, files piling
up, and people visiting and revisiting the
offices; this image of the government
machinery in general lingered in Indians'
minds for a long time. However, Prime
Minister Narendra Modi has worked to
change this image, not only of the country
but also of the government machinery.
This is why, during the Special Cleanliness
Campaign 2.0, which took place in
government departments across the
country from Gandhi Jayanti to October
31, not only were more than 54 lakh files
reviewed, but more than 4 lakh long-
pending cases and complaints were also
resolved. Over 88 lakh square feet of space
have been vacated. In addition, as part of
the cleanliness campaign, the government
earned Rs 364.53 crore by disposing of
various departments' files and scraps.
