There are times in nation-building when we reach a new crossroads and attempt to
reach a new destination. In the intrvening nights of June 30 and July 1, the country
turned a 17-year journey into a reality by demonstrating exemplary federalism. GST
became a revolution in the world of economics, giving direction to the entire country
and a new dimension to the economy. Team India made a significant step forward in
realising the dream of 'One Nation, One Tax' from Ganganagar to Itanagar, from Leh
to Lakshadweep, by eliminating 500 different types of taxes in the country. With the
completion of six years of GST in April 2023, the resolution of economic integration has
been transformed into an achievement by record collection thus far.
