Jairamdas Daulatram was born

who was born into a Sindhi family,

his law degree, but soon left. He

second Agriculture Minister. In
India's Constituent Assembly,
he represented a constituency
in Punjab. From 1950 to 1956,
Jairamdas was also the Governor of
Assam. On November 15, 1953, he
laid the foundation stone for the U
Tirot Singh Memorial. It is located in
the town of Mairang, 45 kilometres
from Shillong, the state capital of
Meghalaya.
In memory of the seven martyrs,
a memorial has been built at the
intersection in front of the Bihar
Legislative
Assembly
complex,
the foundation stone of which
was laid on August 15, 1947 by
Jairamdas Daulatram, the first and
then Governor of Bihar. On March 1,
1979, Jairamdas Daulatram died. In
his honour, the Indian government
issued a postage stamp in 1985.
