            census—typically conducted at the beginning of every decade—was delayed this time
            due to COVID-19 and commenced in April 2026, it is now poised to lay the foundation
            for a ‘Developed India’. Leveraging modern technology and the digital revolution, this
             exercise—which includes both self-enumeration and a caste census—will chart the
           course for the nation’s future. Preserving a legacy spanning 150 years, Census 2027 will,
          during this ‘Amrit Kaal’, define the contours of the nation’s destiny—recording the details,
         participation, and progress of every single citizen. It is not merely a count; it is set to script
                  a new, transformative saga of development for an ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
