Income of weavers, artisans, and workers
in the Khadi sector will increase
HISTORIC 33% MONTHLY INCOME
INCREASE FOR ARTISANS, 10%
WAGE HIKE FOR WEAVERS
he motto of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
"Khadi for Nation, Khadi for Fashion, and
T Khadi for Transformation," has revitalised
Khadi. The growing interest in Indian Khadi in the
country and around the world has resurrected
it. The spinners and weavers of the Khadi sector
have made a special contribution to increasing the
production of Khadi. In such a situation, a historic
decision has been taken to give its natural benefits
to the weavers and artisans associated with the
Khadi sector. The Khadi and Village Industries
Commission has decided to increase the wages
of labourers from Rs. 7.50 per lachha to Rs. 10
per lachha to increase their income. This initiative
will increase the monthly income of artisans by
about 33% and the wages of weavers by 10%. This
decision will be effective April 1, 2023.
This decision to put more and more money
in the hands of the workers associated with the
Khadi-Village Industries programme to increase
their source of income and further improve their
economic condition will prove to be helpful in
building a strong, prosperous, and self-reliant
India. It should be noted that in the financial year
2021-2022, the production of Khadi and Village
Industries products was Rs 84,290 crore and the
sale was Rs 1,15,415 crore. On October 2 last year,
Khadi India's Connaught Place outlet created a
new record by selling Khadi products worth Rs
1.34 crore in a single day.
"E-SANJEEVANI TELE-CONSULTATION" SERVICE
ACHIEVES TARGET OF 10 CRORE CONSULTATIONS

the Central Government's
"e-Sanjeevani tele-consultation" service has reached
its goal of 10 crore consultations. "E-Sanjeevani," as
per its name, is proving to be Sanjeevani (an elixir)
for the patients.
With the National Telemedicine Service, India
has reached a major milestone in which health
services are available with a single click. In this
round of 10 crore tele-consultations, 57 percent of
the beneficiaries are women, and 12 percent are
senior citizens. The platform has demonstrated its
effectiveness by reaching out to the most vulnerable
segments of the population. The Indian government
is now launching "e-Sanjeevani 2.0." People sitting
at home can consult doctors via digital platforms,
as the government is committed to building a strong
digital health eco-system in India so that every
citizen is healthy and the nation is strong.
INDIA WILL MEET ITS TARGET
OF 10 CRORE SELF-HELP GROUP

he Central Government's initiative to empower
and make women self-reliant, even in rural
T areas, is proving effective. Through its actions
over the last nine years, the Self-Help Group (SHG)
has truly established itself as a national help group. In
2014, there were only 2.35 crore members of self-help
groups, but that number has now surpassed 9 crore.
Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh says
that the number of Mahila Sakhis will reach 10 crore
by 2024, and the Ministry is actively enrolling new
Mahila Sakhis. He stated that with these efforts, the
Central Government will be able to meet the target of
10 lakh Lakhpati Didis within a few years, and that the
day will not be far off when some Lakhpati Didis will
become Crorepati Didis. Self-help groups are present
in 97% of blocks, with 85% of them directly connected
to the ministry's network.
