Indian publications should
increase their global presence
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 13
inaugurated the INS Tower along with
visiting the Indian Newspaper Society (INS)
Secretariat in G-Block of Bandra Kurla
Complex in Mumbai. This new building will
meet the growing needs of INS members for
a modern and efficient office in Mumbai and
will act as the main center of the newspaper
industry in Mumbai.
Prime Minister Modi said in the program
that the citizens of a country who become
confident about their capabilities, start
achieving new heights of success. The same
is happening in India today. The stature of
people of Indian origin has increased abroad,
credibility, and respect has increased. The
global image of a country directly impacts its
economy. Indian publications must increase
their global presence. Reiterating India's
journey to become the world's third-largest
economy in the near future, the Prime Minister
said that it is the media's responsibility to
spread India's success to every corner of the
world. He urged media houses to use digital
editions of publications as they are space-
efficient compared to printed editions.

10 years ago, Mumbai had only
8 km of metro line, today it has
reached almost 80 km. Not only
this, work is currently underway
on about 200 km of metro network
in Mumbai. The length of national
highways in Maharashtra has
tripled in the last 10 years.
Therefore, efforts are being made to improve the
connectivity of the areas around Mumbai. Coastal
Road and Atal Setu in Mumbai are now complete.
Today everyone is realizing the immense benefits
that are being derived from these projects. Nearly
20 thousand vehicles are plying on it every day. It
is estimated that fuel worth 20-25 lakh rupees is
being saved every day because of Atal Setu. People
now take about 45 minutes less to reach Panvel.
That means the benefit of saving commutation
time and advantages for the environment. With
this approach, Mumbai's transport system is being
modernized. The work of expansion of Mumbai
Metro is also going on at a fast pace.
Platform length increased to 382 meters
New platforms of Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and two
extended platforms of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
Terminus station were also dedicated to the nation.
With the construction of new long platforms of
Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, long trains can move
from here. More passengers can travel per train.
Also, the capacity of the station can be improved
to handle increasing traffic. Two platforms of
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus station have
been extended to 382 meters. This will help in
increasing the number of trains with 24 coaches,
which will increase the number of passengers.
Internship opportunities will be available
Prime Minister Modi launched the Chief Minister
Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana with an outlay of
about Rs 5,600 crore. This is a transformational
internship program, which addresses the problem
of unemployment by providing opportunities
for skill enhancement and industry
experience to youth aged 18 to 30 years. n
