                                                      AGREEMENT WITH AIRBUS WAS SIGNED IN 2021
                                                      In September 2021, India signed a contract with Airbus Defence
                                                      and Space worth approximately Rs 21,000 crore (ADSpace). There
                                                      was an agreement to purchase C-295 aircraft instead of the old
                                                      Avro-748. There were 56 aircraft requisitioned. Of these, 16 will
                                                      come from Spain and the remaining 40 will be made in Vadodara,
                                                      Gujarat. These  aircraft will  be completely  indigenous.  Between
                                                      September 2023 and August 2025, 16 aircraft will be delivered.
                                                      The  indigenously  made aircraft will  be supplied  from  2026  to
                                                      2031. According to the Ministry of Defence , through this project,
                                                      the Air Force will get 56 aircraft by 2031.
