Unity has always been the hallmark of the Indian ethos and aspirations. The spirit of unity is

ingrained in the heart of India's psyche. Inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
in 2014, it was decided to celebrate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Iron Man 'Sardar

Vallabhbhai Patel', i.e., October 31st as National Unity Day. Its aim is to strengthen the spirit of
unity and integrity. On the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 147th birthday, Prime Minister
Narendra Modi paid tribute to him at the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya and participated in the

celebrations for National Unity Day.

Tare the occasion to celebrate India's cultural
diversity. Unity is inherent in our philosophy. The
unity of the country is visible whenever there is a
disaster in the country and the whole country stands
together. On the occasion of the National Unity
Day Parade 2022 in Kevadiya, Gujarat, Prime
Minister Narendra Modi said, “This solidarity,
this discipline, is necessary at every level
from family to the country and today we are
seeing this in every corner of the country. Today
75000 unity races are being held in the country. The
people of the country are taking inspiration from
the determination power of Sardar Patel. Today,
the people of the country are taking a pledge for the
unity and integrity of the nation to awaken the 'panch
pranas' of the immortal period."
We have different cultural ways of celebrating, but
the spirit is the same. This unity of the country,
this solidarity, this affinity for each other,
displays India's deeper values. Prime
Minister Narendra Modi said, "Today on
National Unity Day, I want to reiterate
the responsibility assigned to us by
Sardar Saheb. He had given us the
responsibility to strengthen the
unity of the country. This unity will
be strengthened when every citizen
will handle this responsibility
