Parliament’s Budget Session
Concludes with the 270th
Session of the Rajya Sabha
With the conclusion of the 270th session of the
Rajya Sabha, the Budget Session of Parliament also
came to an end. The budgetary allocations approved, 1 2 18th Lok Sabha Session 6 7

policies endorsed, and priorities established during
this session have a direct impact on the lives of every
citizen of India. The session commenced with a Time Lost Due to Disruptions
four-day-long discussion on the Motion of Thanks
to the President’s Address, delivered by President
Droupadi Murmu, in which 79 members of the
House participated. PM Modi’s reply to the Motion
of Thanks clarified key issues raised by MPs.
n A total of 97 members participated in 18th Lok Sabha Session
this discussion, which spanned four days.
Furthermore, the House also engaged in
extensive deliberations on the functioning of 1 2

n The House also took note of the suo motu 7
statements delivered by the minister of Government Bills Introduced/Passed During the Session
commerce and industry regarding the India-US
bilateral trade agreement and external affairs
minister concerning the situation in West Asia.
n PM Modi made a statement addressing the
ongoing conflict in West Asia and the challenges
faced by India, particularly with regard to Number of Bills
meeting the country’s energy requirements.
n During the session, members introduced 50
Private Members’ Bills.
n The House functioned for a total of 157 hours
and 40 minutes, achieving a productivity level
of 109.87%.
