dent India’s Nyaya Sanhita is woven with the ideals
of equality, harmony, and social justice. It is often
said that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law,
yet the practical reality was quite different; the poor
and the vulnerable feared the law and were afraid
to step into courts or police stations. Now, however,
the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita is transforming this
societal mindset. People are beginning to trust that
the nation’s laws guarantee equality. This is the true
social justice promised by the Constitution.
A STRENGTHENED SENSE OF SECURITY
AMONG THE PEOPLE
The true strength of any nation lies in its people, and
the people derive their strength from the country’s
laws. That is why citizens proudly declare their ad-
herence to the law. This allegiance of citizens to the
law constitutes the nation’s greatest asset. Rules and
laws are effective only when they remain relevant
to the times. Today, the world is changing rapidly;
the nature of crime and the new methods criminals
employ have evolved. In such a context, 19th-centu-
ry systems were no longer practical. Consequently,
these laws have been modernized and made truly
